Individual sessions are a place for you to be seen, heard & supported through the challenges that you are dealing with just now.
Some of the things that I support people with are:
Recovering from disordered eating
Moving through and beyond anxiety or depression
Persistent pain or pain flare ups
Recovering from disordered exercise behaviours
Improving body image
Enjoying a healthy relationship with exercise and food
Moving through unresolved trauma in the body
Dealing with difficult feelings and lack of feeling safe in their body
Improving self esteem
Our sessions start with where you're at and what's going on for you. We then explore what it is that you want to get from our sessions together and how collaboratively we can find ways forward for you.
We work at a pace that is right for you and in ways that make sense to you. We explore where things feel stuck and limiting for you just now and how that is affecting you.
Generally we are forward focused. We might occasionally reflect back to your previous experiences for fresh insight, but we are not looking to delve into the past to understand ‘why’. Instead our focus is on 'where' and 'how' to go from here and finding sustainable ways of doing that.
I bring many tools to our sessions from practices that I can draw on to support you. This ranges from therapeutic coaching tools such as NLP, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and counselling skills through to somatic tools such as mindfulness, somatic movement, mindful pilates, yoga and body awareness therapy.
At the heart of what I bring, is seeing you first and foremost, and doing so with acceptance, empathy and respect for you as an individual.
