Feeling fit and well in our body is a priceless feeling. Not only do we move easier and happier in the things that we do, but we generally feel better about ourselves in most other aspects of our life too when we move confidently and well in our body.

Individual sessions for wellbeing and alignment with me are primarily based on a foundation of pilates.

Pilates is often talked about as being 'for the core'. Learning to move easily from a strong and stable centre is certainly part of what it is about. But pilates is so much more - it focuses on bringing wellness and ease of movement to your whole body and mindset. The contemporary style of pilates that I teach guides us to move mindfully and with awareness of our whole body, how we move through space and how we interact with the forces around us. It encourages ease of movement and learning to move better without having to think about it all the time. It encourages connection rather than tension in the body. It's my job to teach you how to do that.

While we often think about pilates being mat based, perhaps with some small props, it actually originated on large pieces of spring based equipment which was able to provide assistance OR resistance to the movements - as the clients required. Moving well isn't just about being flexible, or strong, or stable. It is about achieving a good balance of each. We tend to favour one or two of these attributes and often avoid the other. The equipment gives feedback and can help us to find that balance in a way that often can't be felt with just mat based exercises.
Individual sessions are tailored specifically to your needs to help you feel good moving through everything that life demands. It might be helping you to improve your flexibility, stability, strength, mobility, cardiovascular health, or it might be considering lifestyle, habits and behaviours which are keeping you stuck.

There is no right or wrong number of sessions or period of time to come and see me. I have no expectations of that just a passion to help you enjoy moving well.

Some people see me for a small number of sessions over a finite period of time to help them achieve a specific goal.
Some see me once every few weeks after their initial appointment to update, check in and hold some accountability.
Some come to me regularly over the longer term for ongoing support or because it is an important part of their self -care.

However we choose to work together, you'll be learning how to move well in your body, how to listen to it and its needs and how to integrate that into your every day life.
