I am a firm believer in the positive power of both physical movement and of being outdoors in nature and the fresh air. For this reason I offer outdoor talking sessions where we get outside to walk and talk our way through what's going on for you and how you can move forward positively. These sessions can be particularly beneficial if managing stress or anxiety is one of your main goals.
We can take a walk in one of the green areas of Edinburgh (e.g. Pentlands, Arthurs Seat, Dalkeith Country Park, Hermitage, Vogrie Park, ). We walk at a pace that is comfortable for you and we can, and do, stop regularly whether that's to take in a view or just to sit for a bit while we talk.
We may choose to have some sessions outside and others inside. It's OK to switch between the two. If the weather is 'challenging' we will agree to either head inside, move the session to a different day, or we’ll zip up our raincoats and face the elements. Getting out despite the weather can metaphorically in itself help to move through some block or limitation we may have about our capabilities.
