As practitioners we develop a unique relationship with our clients. At times we are that ear that they need, or an ongoing support during challenging times. How do we support our client's wellbeing if we discover or suspect that they have an eating disorder?

In this workshop we will:
  • Discuss various types of eating disorders and typical signs and symptoms associated with them.
  • Consider the do's and don't of working with someone who has, or who you suspect has, a disordered relationship with food and their body.
  • Discover how and why proprioception and introspection are experienced differently by someone with an eating disorder / body dysmorphia.
  • Learn how movement practices can be a wonderful tool to help your client connect healthily with their body and food, while recognising and being aware that movement can at times be a double edged sword for those with eating disorders.

We will also look at ways that you can guide them towards appropriate help.

For any practitioners with a movement element to their work or those interested in learning more about eating disorders and how movement can play a part in prevention / recovery / healing.
